When we needed a radon mitigation solution for one of our largest and most mechanically complex schools, Advanced Radon Technologies was an invaluable resource. Before suggesting a mitigation design, they recommended a more detailed study of the radon levels and how they were affected by the operation of the HVAC system. We were surprised to find that the heating and ventilation system effectively reduced radon levels well below the EPA’s action level. This gave us the option to either adjust the HVAC operation times to maintain low radon levels or install a sub-slab ventilation system that would operate only when the HVAC was off. Advanced Radon Technologies’ experience with commercial-grade buildings ensured we received the most effective radon mitigation solution the first time.

I was employed as the Facility Manager for the Riverside School District from 1989 to August 2001. During that time, Advanced Radon Technologies conducted numerous radon tests on the district’s facilities. When elevated levels were identified, they recommended various methods to resolve the issues. In one instance, they sealed a buried return duct; in another, they installed a mitigation system integrated with the HVAC system. The radon system operates only when the HVAC system is active, saving wear and tear on the fan and hundreds of dollars in energy costs.
