Advanced Radon Technologies, ART, is a second-generation, family-owned, small business that was founded when a mechanical engineering firm and a geological firm joined forces for many projects, including the Washington State Passive Stack study, which first examined methods for mitigating radon in newly built homes during the construction phase. Specializing in radon mitigation since 1991 and vapor intrusion since 2002, ART uses this engineering and geological foundation to site design and install radon systems for residential and commercial properties, delivering precise mitigation solutions. Dave Gerard, and his father Thomas J Gerard, invented and patented the sub-slab diagnostic tester, the most integral part of our whole system diagnostic approach. This machine gives us an advantage, as it simulates a completed radon system in the early stages of the system installation. Between years of experience and the sub slab diagnostic tester, we have over a 98% success rate on mitigating radon levels below 4 pCi/l for several years after the clearance test.

My goal is to educate my fellow citizens on the truth about radon and to provide information and innovative solutions so they can feel safe within their own homes.”
Dave Gerard graduated from Gonzaga with Honors and is also certified with both the NRPP and the NRSB in both radon measurement and mitigation. Advanced Radon Technologies has attended six Radon Symposiums where Dave was nominated to be on the Indoor environments board (formally known as AARST).
At the symposium, Dave presented the patented diagnostic testing machine and explained how and why the machine works. He also discussed a few of our large commercial radon mitigation projects as well as Vapor Intrusion projects. Dave is also an instructor for several classes through local realtor associations for his Radon in Real Estate class. He does this to help educate realtors on the unique challenges mitigating radon in the pacific northwest, which is one of the most complex regions in the United States.
